It is important to be clear about what a portable AC is and what it is not. The GS-R12000 is a real air conditioner. It uses R32 Gas refrigerant, it contains a proper compressor, and it removes heat from the air using the refrigeration cycle, the same process used in every split AC and window unit. What makes it portable is that both the indoor (evaporator) and outdoor (condenser) functions happen inside one cabinet. The heat extracted from the room is expelled through an exhaust hose that vents through a window or a small wall opening.

At 1 Ton, this unit comfortably cools bedrooms and home offices up to about 18m². For server rooms, the output is sufficient for a small rack in an enclosed space, though serious server environments typically need a dedicated precision cooling unit. For a single room with standard heat load, a laptop, a TV, two or three people, it will bring the temperature down noticeably within 15 to 20 minutes.
